Program Description:

Program Description: CIPA has recently restructured the CIPA Study Abroad Travel Grant Application Process. Emory students currently receiving financial aid through Emory's Office of Financial Aid may submit an application for the travel grant. The grant can be used to offset airfare and other travel-related expenses for an Emory-approved semester or summer program abroad. All students are now required to physical turn in a copy of their unofficial transcript to CIPA as a Material Submission.


Selection: The selection process will be competitively based upon a combination of academic merit and financial need. Priority will be given to students who propose to study abroad for a full academic year.

Application instructions: For questions or assistance, please contact the CIPA Advisor to schedule a meeting or to inquire about the process. In order to apply, students must complete the following steps:

1. Apply online to your program via the on-line application system.
Click on the Apply Now link. Emory students will need their Emory login ID and password.
2. View the application checklist and requirements. Once you log into the system, you will be required to complete a series of steps through the checklist process. The checklist includes the following types of documents:

Material submissions: Items that you need to hand into the CIPA office:
(a) Copy of your Financial Aid letter
(b) Unofficial Transcript

Signature documents: Items that you will need to read, complete and/or "digitally sign" on-line:
(a) Release for Funds

Questionnaires: Items that you will need to fill out and answer online:
(a) APPLICATION Essay: this can be the same as the CIPA application essay. If so: briefly indicate
(b) Additional Financial Information
(c) International Background Information


3. Complete all application materials by the stated deadline above. Upon completion of the online application, CIPA will notify you of the receipt of the completed grant application. If you have questions at any point in the process, please contact your CIPA Advisor.

Application Deadline:  Students must submit the CIPA Study Abroad Grant application by the following
deadline:
For the Spring semester: October 1
the Fall semester / Year: March 1

Awards: Semester travel grants range from $1500 to $2500, depending on program location. The exact amount will be determined by CIPA.
