CIPA has recently restructured the CIPA Study Abroad Travel Grant Application Process. Emory students currently receiving financial aid through Emory's Office of Financial Aid may submit an application for the travel grant. The grant can be used to offset airfare and other travel-related expenses for an Emory-approved semester or summer program abroad.

General Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for one of the CIPA Summer Study Abroad Travel Grants, students must:

  • Be enrolled as an Emory student.
  • Have and maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

  • Have applied and been accepted to an eligible summer study abroad program
  • Receive need based financial aid through Emory's Office of Financial Aid (students with questions about their current financial aid package should contact Emory's Office of Financial Aid)

Selection: The selection process will be competitively based on financial need and the following factors: 1) the appropriateness of the student's plan of study to his/her overall academic plan 2) the quality of the match between the student's goals and the opportunities that the program offers, and 3) the strength of the student's preparation at Emory.
