Program Description:
IFSA Western AU

Academic Focus: The University of Western Australia's course offerings are vast, with a hands-on approach to learning. They specialize in direct field and studio work. Students wishing to experience this first-hand should consider the University of Western Australia's departments of music, fine arts, archaeology, anthropology, and zoology. The University of Western Australia program is open to all majors, but may be particularly suitable to students with academic interests in the areas listed above.

Approximate Dates: Fall: early July to early December; Spring: early February to late July

Eligibility Requirements: A minimum 3.0 GPA, following at least 3 semesters of college-level work and enrollment at an accredited institution the semester prior to the study abroad semester. No language requirement.

Courses: All students should consult the IFSA-Butler Australia handbook for courses offered in major subject areas. Questions regarding academics at a particular university may be directed to the appropriate IFSA-Butler Program Coordinator at 1-800-858-0229.

Living Arrangements: IFSA-Butler arranges housing prior to arrival for Emory students. Students receive complete information about housing options after their applications are accepted. Housing is NOT provided before the program begins or after it ends. Most of UWA's housing is in residential colleges that offer meal plans, so you'll have plenty of opportunities for making friends with Aussie students. Students who do not live in residential colleges will live in off-campus student flats. Students pay IFSA-Butler directly for all housing costs (including refundable housing deposit) and cost of meal ticket if elected or required.

Costs: A full description of the program costs and billing procedures is available in the budget sheets. Please click here for Budget Sheets Fall Spring

Financial Aid/Scholarships: Students are eligible to carry existing financial aid and scholarships on Emory-approved study abroad programs. Students may also be eligible to apply for the following scholarships: IFSA-Butler Scholarship/Travel Grant and the Gilman Scholarship. Study Abroad Scholarships, Grants, Research & Service
