Program Description:
IFSA Adelaide

Academic Focus: The languages, Asian studies, and music departments are particularly well known at the University of Adelaide. For the more science-oriented, Adelaide offers some of the best engineering, agriculture, architecture, and environmental studies in Australia. This program is open to all majors, but may be particularly suited to students with academic interests in the majors listed above.

Approximate Dates: Fall: early July to early December; Spring: early February to late July

Eligibility Requirements: A minimum 3.0 GPA, following at least 3 semesters of college-level work and enrollment at an accredited institution the semester prior to the study abroad semester. No language requirement.

Courses: Adelaide is one of the oldest universities in Australia, and the course offerings are vast. All students should consult the IFSA-Butler Australia handbook for courses offered in major subject areas. Questions regarding academics at a particular university may be directed to the appropriate IFSA-Butler Program Coordinator at 1-800-858-0229.

Living Arrangements: IFSA Butler arranges housing prior to arrival for Emory students. Students receive complete information about housing options after their applications are accepted. Housing is NOT provided before the program begins or after it ends. Most IFSA-Butler students live with Aussie students in residential colleges close to campus. Each college constitutes a small community with its own meal plans, traditions, and unique routines. The residential colleges are located in the heart of the city, just a short walk through beautiful parkland to campus. When university housing is unavailable, IFSA-Butler students share flats in the city. Students pay IFSA Butler directly for all housing costs (including refundable housing deposit) and cost of meal ticket if elected or required.

Costs: A full description of the program costs and billing procedures is available in the budget sheets. Please click here for Budget Sheets Fall Spring

Financial Aid/Scholarships: Students are eligible to carry existing financial aid and scholarships on Emory-approved study abroad programs. Students may also be eligible to apply for the following scholarships: IFSA-Butler Scholarship/Travel Grant and the Gilman Scholarship. Study Abroad Scholarships, Grants, Research & Service
