  • Established in 1854, University College Dublin (UCD) is the largest and most international of Ireland’s universities
  • Ranked among the top 1 percent of universities worldwide; Alumni include James Joyce and five of Ireland's eleven Prime Ministers
  • A research-intensive institution with a reputation for teaching excellence
  • UCD has the largest Faculty of Science in Ireland with some 1,500 undergraduates and 560 postgraduates

Academics

  • Largest & most diverse science program in Ireland – from Mathematical & Physical Sciences, Computer Science to Biology, Biomolecular Sciences and Chemistry
  • Students at UCD are only permitted to apply for admission to one college or program within the university and must take the majority of their courses within their college or chosen program
  • The number of courses taken by students varies depending on the number of credits awarded per course

Note: Every effort will be made to place you in the courses you request. However, neither UCD nor Emory University can guarantee placement in any course. Your first choices may not be available due to schedule changes, time conflicts or cancellations. Alternate course approval and flexibility is extremely important.

  • Students attending UCD are housed within university residences located on the main UCD campus. Each college is allocated a specific number of housing assignments with the university residence
  • Student Accommodation types include residence hall, apartment living, ensuite apartments and catered accommodation
