Since the students who are participating in the program will be fully enrolled at Emory and receive Emory credit, they will be charged Emory summer study abroad tuition for participation in the program.  The tuition bill will come from Emory's Office of Student Financial services during the normal billing cycle for the summer.  On the same bill, students will be charged a program fee covering extra expenses.  The non-refundable $350 application deposit will be applied towards tuition. Please review the tuition and financial aid section of the Education Abroad Website.

The "billable subtotal" above lists the charges that will appear on the Emory OPUS bill.  The "non-billable" (to be paid directly by the student) subtotal above lists the additional estimated expenses.  All costs are subject to change.

  • Emory undergraduates who qualify for financial aid during the regular academic year are considered by the Office of Financial Aid for a summer aid award after registration in summer study abroad classes.
  • To request your award estimate, please complete this form (estimates typically available beginning in mid-November for the upcoming summer term). Please allow 5-7 business days for estimate.
  • There are no additional documents needed for financial aid, as your eligibility is determined based on the most recent aid year.
  • The Education Abroad Grant and any other eligible grants will be awarded to your OPUS account in late April.
  • Once the account has been awarded, you will be notified.
  • You must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours to receive state/federal grants and loans.
  • Federal Work Study (FWS) and EdAb FWS Replacement Grants will not be available during the summer.

Students with a high level of financial need may qualify for an application fee waiver and a deferment of the $350 deposit; students should contact their study abroad advisor for details/eligibility. Students who receive the deposit deferment are held accountable to the same refund policy as those students who submitted the deposit; you will be billed the $350 if you withdraw from the program, in addition to any applicable withdrawal fees.

Students should contact the Office of Financial Aid if they have any questions about their eligibility or for information about the specific award.
